Dog fighting in Manor House Gardens

Dogs are being trained to fight in Manor House Gardens
THUGS are training their dogs to fight in the gardens of a restored Georgian library, concerned neighbours claim.
The Users and Friends of Manor House Library group held a meeting about the situation on Tuesday evening.
Peter Richardson, from the group, said: “It’s antisocial and dangerous.
"The darker nights make it even more scary.
“It has been a problem for ages around here.
“They used to do it in Manor Park down the road.
“But after the wardens and police clamped down on it there, it seems they’ve moved up here.
“The safer neighbourhood team officer came along to the meeting and said the police can’t really do anything about dog baiting, only actual fighting – which they haven’t seen in the gardens.”
A multimillion-pound restoration of Manor House Library and Gardens in Old Road, Lee, was completed in May.
A Lewisham council spokesman said: “We are aware of reports of dog fighting training in Manor House Gardens after the park has closed for the night.
“Glendale, who manage the park for us, are working with the council and the local safer neighbourhood team to identify the people involved and put a stop to this antisocial and cruel behaviour.
“Anyone with any information about these activities should report them.”

I reported a staff bull terrier being mistreated at lewisham station by its owner on wednesday 11 november (last week) to lewisham police late at night about 22:30pm, i asked for a response from them if anything was done. But to the point does anyone know if this dog fighting takes place on wednesday nights because if so the owner of that dog could be one of the nasty people doing this.

Maybe ban people without their own garden from owning dogs? It is important that dogs have an outside area to run around in

Sigh,,,,,,,,,,,this old thing again. It’s as simple as this, our ’Government’, needs to ban under 21’s from owning any type of dog, thats it! No breed specific legislation, no silly rules, just ban under 21’s from owning dogs.
